Hereford

The City of Hereford straddles the banks of the River Wye and is the natural center of Herefordshire life.

With a friendly market town atmosphere, Hereford has been the market and commercial center of our Herefordshire farming communities for hundreds of years. There are lots of things to do, not least indulging in some shopping! Wander around the independent stores in the historical center and call in to the adjacent brand spanking new prestigious Old Market, built on the site of the old livestock market. This market has a new, modern home just outside Hereford on Roman Road featuring regular auction sales of the region’s livestock.

Ross-on-Wye

There’s no mistaking Ross-on-Wye in south Herefordshire as a market town. St Mary’s Church spire has shaped the skyline of Ross on Wye for over 700 years.

Perched dramatically above the River Wye, Ross is the southern gateway to Herefordshire, the Wye Valley & Forest of Dean and the dramatic Symonds Yat.

Draped on a hill, the centre of Ross is rapidly gaining a reputation as a town that celebrates independent shops. From clothing and couture to furnishings, food, and fantastic places to stop and unwind – it’s a thriving place for those who prefer their high street a little less corporate.

If scenery that leaves you breathless is your thing, then a stop at The Prospect viewpoint in St Mary’s Churchyard in Ross or a stroll along part of the Wye Valley Walk is a must.

 

Ledbury

Nestled at the foot of the Malvern Hills to the east of Hereford, Ledbury is a haven for poetry and culture. The area has seduced and provoked more than its fair share of notable Poets. It’s not hard to see why.

Climb above the town to the Malvern Hills, or the nearby Marcle Ridge and marvel at the as-far-as-the-eye-can-see landscape. You just can’t help but be inspired. The surrounding countryside is an unspoilt mix of orchards, rolling fields, woodlands and meadows that is teeming with wildlife.

Big enough to be bustling and vibrant, but small enough to keep a strong sense of community, Ledbury is a market town with a unique feel. At the center of Ledbury is the Black and White Grade 1 listed Market Hall. Built in 1653 by the King’s Carpenter John Abel – it is one of the finest examples in England and still hosts markets on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Ледбъри

Există multe de lucruri de făcut aici, si nu în ultimul rând mersul la cumparaturi! Plimbați-va prin magazine independente din centrul istoric și apoi mergeti in noul construit (2014) shopping centre, Vechiul Targ , construit pe locul vechiului târg de animale. Acum acerst targ are o casă nouă, modernă, chiar în afara Hereford-ului, situat pe Roman Road, care dispune de vânzări prin licitație periodice, a efectivelelor de animale din regiune.

Ross-on-Wye
Nu este nici o îndoială ca Ross-on-Wye, situat în sudul comitatului Herefordshire, este oraș de ‘târg’. Vârful bisericii St Mary a modelat orizontul orasului Ross on Wye de peste 700 de ani.
Situat majestic deasupra râului Wye , Ross este poarta de acces de sud a comitatului Herefordshire, Valea Wye & Forest a Dean și frumosului Symonds Yat.
Acoperit de un deal, centrul orasului Ross a castigat rapid o reputație de un oraș care sărbătorește magazinele independente. De la îmbrăcăminte și fashion design ,la mobilier, produse alimentare, și locuri fantastice pentru a va opri și relaxa, este un loc prosper pentru cei care prefera ‘strada mare’, ca un loc traditional.
Daca peisajul care te lasă cu sufletul la gură, este pe placul dvs., apoi o oprire la punctul de observare Prospect, în cimitirul bisericii Sf Maria din Ross, sau o plimbare de-a lungul unei parti din Wye Valley Walk, este obigatorie.

Ledbury
Amplasat la poalele dealurilor Malvern, la est de Hereford, Ledbury este un paradis pentru poezie si cultura. Zona a sedus și a provocat multi poeti notabili. Nu este greu pentru a vedea de ce.
Urca deasupra orasului, pe dealurile Malvern, sau în apropiere de Marcle Ridge și minunați-va de peisajul ‘cat departe poati vedea cu ochii’. Pur si simplu, vei fi inspirat. Peisajul rural înconjurător este un amestec de livezi, câmpuri, păduri și pajiști, care sunt pline cu animale sălbatice.
Suficient de mare pentru a fi plin de viață și vibrant, dar suficient de mic pentru a menține un puternic sentiment de comunitate, Ledbury este un oraș piață (targ) cu un simt unic. În centrul orasului Ledbury este Market Hall Black and White – cladire de patrimoniu. Construit în 1653 de către Regelui Carpenter John Abel - aceasta este una dintre cele mai bine conservate din Anglia, și încă găzduiește piețe în zilele de marți și sâmbătă.
